Anambra based prophet accuses National Assembly, NLC of irresponsibility

From Ifeoma Ejiofor, Nnewi

The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach, Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu on Sunday said that the National Assembly and the current leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress are irresponssible.

Prophet Uzukwu said that it was amazing how the National Assembly quickly passed the bill to revert to the old National Anthem into law as if that would put food on the table of the poor, hungry and angry masses.

“Will reverting to the national anthem composed by colonial masters bring down high cost of living, bring down the pump price of petroleum or enhance the living standard of Nigerians which is about the worst in Africa today.

“If they are eager to take Nigeria and Nigerians backward, why don’t they return the nation to parliamentary system of government, the old reasonable school fees, and the old pump price of petroleum products. Maybe they will soon ask us to go back to the old pound Sterling.

“It’s worrisome that Nigeria is the only country in Africa where the national anthem composed by the colonial masters is still being used. I have said it times without number that the National Assembly has helped to put the nation’s vehicle on reverse gear, honestly, if drastic steps are not taken to address the slide, Nigeria would end up in the ditch,” he said.

Prophet Uzukwu expressed worry that the National Assembly refused to pass any bill to checkmate the daylight looting going on in the country into law, ignore the starving masses and devaluation of Naira by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
