Gov. Alia promises to change the fortunes of Benue state

Benue State Governor, Rev.Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, has described the massive transformation witnessed in the past one year of his administration as “divine, and intended to change the fortunes of the State and returns it to its lost glory”.

Gov. Alia who is on a “thank you” tour of the State was addressing the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, at the LGEA Central Primary School Vandeikya, commended the people of the constituency for their continued support during the campaigns and after his election as the State governor.

The governor speaking of his resolve to develop the State regretted that, “Benue has suffered so many set backs and this is one of the reasons God wants you to join forces with me to ensure we have a success story. I want you all to co-opt into this administration of ours to bring development and bring our children back to the classrooms so that our tomorrow becomes very prosperous and futuristic”.

“What we have done in the area of renovation of schools, hospitals, roads constructions, provision of electricity among many others in the last one year is just a tip of the iceberg,” the governor stated.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his laudable initiatives aimed at putting the country back on the fast lane of development, stressing that such programmes have direct bearing on the lives of every citizen of the country.

On Youths development, the governor pointed out that, his administration has since commenced the training of 10, 000 youths in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and another batch of 10,000 youths is expected to be trained until 60,000 of them are finally trained.

He said his administration has achieved much in the last one year as evidenced in the construction of several roads, renovation of schools and hospitals, the state Assembly complex and the state Secretariat, provision of street lights, ensuring the security of lives and property of people of the state among others.

Earlier, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State and former senator representing Benue North-East, Chief Sen. B. I. A. He made praised Governor Alia’s achievements in just one year at the helms.

Sen. Gemade assured the governor of the people of Jechira’s unshakable support behind his government, adding that the administration has performed well in the last one year, saying it is an indicator he will rule the state for 8 years.

“He (Alia) has performed well. We are in total support of his administration and we are charging all sons and daughters of Jechira that nobody should contest with him in 2027. He will stand unopposed when the time for his second term comes.
