AMAC gives contractor handling Lugbe road two months to deliver

By Daniel Tyokua

The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikalangu has asked the contractor handling the construction and rehabilitation of Sabo Lugbe road to deliver the project within two months.

He gave the directive at the ground-breaking ceremony of the construction of Lugbe Primary School and Lugbe Chief Palace township roads on Tuesday.

Maikalangu said as a responsible government that adheres to the yearnings of the people, it is the responsibility of his administration to meet the needs of the electorate.

He explained that AMAC residents will enjoy dividends of democracy and feel the impact of good governance within their various communities if they continued paying taxes to the government.

Maikalangu said: “Few months ago at the ground breaking ceremony of Dnako community, I personally expressed my commitment to make positive impact by providing social amenities across the twelve wards of the Council that will directly impact the lives of my people economically.

“Today’s ceremony here is a confirmation of my promises towards being responsive to the basic need of our people.

“It may interest you to note that as part of the roads revolution we are celebrating today, we are proud to have constructed over 15 asphalt legacy roads across the three zones of the 12 political wards of the Council, all ready for commissioning.

“In line with our vision, this project is focused in making life more meaningful to our teaming electorate. We have also embarked on rural electrification, water supply, health services, women and youth empowerment, as well as enhancing educational development, among others.

“These projects wouldn’t have been possible if residents failed to pay their taxes and levies to government. I therefore appeal to all residents to please, pay their taxes and co-operate with AMAC in order to serve you better.”

He added: “Our achievements so far in roads construction and rehabilitation are in line with the FCT development roadmap demonstrated by my mentor and leader, the Hon. Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Wike. With him, we are inspired to give back hope to our people based on the renew hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu”
