TETFund boss to deliver keynote address at ninth ALM summit

The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Arc. Sonny Echono, has been selected to deliver the keynote address at the forthcoming ninth African Leadership Organisation Summit.

The summit organised by United Kingdom-based publishers of the African Leadership Magazine, will hold between July 17-18, 2024 at the Hilton London Metropole and House of Lords in London.

A statement by the organisers said Echono, during the two-day event, is expected to speak for five to 10 minutes on the sub-theme: ‘Education and entrepreneurial linkages: Africa’s pathway to unleashing its greatness’.

The editorial board of the magazine also noted that the selection of Echono is a “testament to his transformational leadership in improving infrastructure, strategic resource allocation, promoting research and development, enhancing academic staff training, integrating ICT and digital learning, advocating for policy reforms, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria’s tertiary education system”.

They added that Echono would also be a “distinguished honoured”, due to his lasting impactful contribution to education development, not only within Nigeria but also as a model for educational leadership across Africa.

The statement read in part, “I bring you warm greetings from the board and management of the African Leadership Organisation (UK), publishers of the African Leadership Magazine (ALM).

“It is my honour and pleasure to invite you as a keynote speaker and distinguished honouree during the ninth edition of the flagship annual ALM Africa Summit, London – United Kingdom, scheduled to be held 1718 July 2024 at the Hilton London Metropole and House of Lords, London UK, respectively, with the theme: Africa Unleashed: Navigating Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities.

“During the event in London, you shall be expected to speak for five to 10 minutes on the sub-theme- “Education & Entrepreneurial Linkages: Africa’s Pathway to Unleashing its Greatness.

“In addition, based on your exceptional leadership qualities and your significant contributions to the development of education in Nigeria, our editorial board has meritoriously selected you for the African Leadership Excellence in Education Development Award.

“The award trophy and other instruments of the honour shall be formally conferred on you during the 14th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) presentation ceremony, a special component of the ALM Africa Summit – London 2024.

“Please note that the ABLA awards presentation ceremony will be held on the second day of the summit, being 18th July 2024 at the UK House of Lords.”
