Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Iormem Alia has approved the appointment of Dr. Engr. Comfort Akwonya Adadu, as the Director General, Benue State Bureau for Public Procurement.
Dr. Engr. Adadu, an erudite academic, was until the appointment, a senior lecturer with the Benue State University Makurdi. She hails from Ado local government area of the state.
A statement by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief press secretary to the governor said, ” the Gov. Alia equally approved appointments of council members for the state owned tertiary institutions.
The appointees include: Sir Paul Chukwuma, Chairman/Pro-Chancellor Benue State University; Prof. Member George-Genyi, Chairman, College of Education, Oju; Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti, Chairman, College of Education, Katsina-Ala; Dr. Victoria Pila, Chairman, Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev.
The statement added that, Prof. Okpe O. Okpe; Dr. Damian Anyam; Dr. Bem Vangerwua are appointed council chairmen for Akowe Torkula Polytechni Makurdi, Benue Polytechnic, Ogbokolo and College of Health Technology, Agasha respectively.
According to the statement, the governor’s beliefs in the appointees who were painstakingly selected based on their records and experiences is very high.
” It is my belief that you will work hard to deliver and uplift the standards in the instructions to which you have been appointed. I am charging you to put the interest of the State first all your official engagements”, the governor said.
Gov. Alia then congratulated the twenty-eight other members of the councils for making the list and called on them to work together to achieve better results.
