Governor Ododo made this assertion during the commissioning of the Quick Response Unit office complex of the Nigeria Police, Kogi State Command.

The facility, constructed by the Kogi State Government within 90 days under Governor Ododo’s administration, marks a significant step in enhancing the state’s security infrastructure.

“Our administration is not content with merely managing security challenges,” the Governor emphasized. “We are determined to confront and eliminate criminal elements hiding within the state.”

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo was quoted saying, “I am not here to do my best. I am here to defeat criminals. We are winning the war against insecurity and are committed to strengthening the state’s security architecture.”

Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across Kogi State. He assured that all necessary measures would be taken to guarantee security in every part of the state.

He highlighted the Metropolitan Quick Response operation as a proactive initiative to enhance security and build on the solid foundation laid by the previous administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Praising the dedication and sacrifices of security agencies in the state, Governor Ododo pledged to prioritize technological advancements to improve intelligence-gathering capabilities and combat emerging security threats.

The Governor also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to addressing security challenges nationwide, expressing the full support of Kogi State’s government and people in the fight against terrorists and criminals.

Governor Ododo urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide credible and timely information to security agencies, supporting ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal elements.

The Metropolitan Quick Response Squad aims to ensure a safe environment for all residents and visitors in Kogi State. It focuses on 24-hour response capability, enhanced intelligence gathering, and a community-based approach to policing. This initiative is in partnership with the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police and the state’s Joint Task Force to tackle criminal activities effectively.
