Leader, Team Nwawelugo Movement and APC Chairmanship aspirant in Anambra state, Chief Ikechukwu C Anonye has urged his party, the All Progressives Congress not to boycott the September 28 local government elections in the state.
Anonye took the position following the position of APC in the state not to participate.
He counselled the party to participate as he reiterated the importance of participating in the election as a vital test case for the party’s success. “This election presents an opportunity to overhaul our party’s machineries, test our strength, and prepare for the 2025 gubernatorial election”. He said.
While speaking with a few local government Chairmanship aspirants in Anambra state on the upcoming September 28th election, he insisted that the ability of the party to participate
will present an opportunity to overhaul the party’s machineries, “test our strength, and prepare for the 2025 gubernatorial election”, he submitted.
“As we approach the September 28th Local Government Area (LGA) election, I, Chief Ikechukwu C. Anonye, reiterate the importance of participating in this election as a vital test case for our party’s success. This election presents an opportunity to overhaul our party’s machineries, test our strength, and prepare for the 2025 gubernatorial election.
“While I respect the decision of our party’s stakeholders to boycott the election, I must express my reservations. Boycotting the election will deprive us of invaluable experience and hinder our ability to surmount political opposition obstacles. It is crucial that we participate, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective strategies to overcome challenges.
“Although I align myself with the party’s decision, I must emphasize that boycotting the election may not be in the best interest of our party’s growth and success. I urge our party members to consider the long-term benefits of participation and the potential consequences of boycotting.
“Let us work together to build a stronger, more resilient party, prepared to face the challenges of future elections”, he concludes.
