Police, Military wage war on Kidnappers, armed robbers in Imo

As part of her social responsibilities of stamping out kidnapping, armed robbery, violent crimes and anti social vices,the Imo State Police Command says it has launched a major operation in collaboration with the military to stabilize the security situations of the State.

In a statement signed by ASP Henry Okoye, Police spokesman, the joint effort, which began on Thursday, September 12, aims to dismantle criminal syndicates terrorizing residents in Obinze, Ihiagwa, Avu, Federal University of Technology (FUTO) axis in Owerri, and other red flag areas of the State.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, the operation is a response to recent reports of increased kidnapping incidents in the affected areas.

“We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our communities,”

“Our objective is to enhance peace and security in the state and guarantee safe environments for learning.”

The Commissioner solicited the maximum cooperation of the general public in her efforts to curb the security insurgence, urging residents to report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station promptly or via ‪0803 477 3600‬.

“By working together, we can effectively combat these criminal elements,” Danjuma added.

“The operation will leverage the combined expertise and resources of both agencies to bring those responsible for these criminal acts to justice” part of the statement stated
