Gov. Alia appointments Dr. Jimmy Terhemen Ajim as DG, plenipotentiary and liaison affairs, Abuja

Governor Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Dr. Jimmy Terhemen Ajim, as the Director General, Plenipotentiary and Liaison Affairs, Abuja.

A graduate of Kingston University, London and Zug University, Switzerland, Dr. Ajim has a strong Academic and Industrial Training background in Leadership & Management, Public Relations, Protocol, Diplomacy and Logistics. He is also a Member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations,    Member,  Member, Nigerian Institute of Management, Guild of Orators, Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants, and Member,  Chatham House London.

He has worked and held several responsibilities such as NNPC Liaison Officer; Protocol and Logistics Officer; Executive Officer (External Relations) both with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Office in Nigeria and London. He also served as Senior Manager, Protocol (Office of the Minister of State for Petroleum), Abuja.

It is the belief of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, that as a seasoned Liaison, Protocol, Public Relations and Logistics officer, Dr. Ajim’s wealth of experience and trustworthy record of service, will add significant value to his government.

He charges him to remain focused and align his work with the vision of the administration as outlined in the working document.

The Governor also urges him to always prioritize the interest of the state in his day-to-day official functions.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

Dr Jimmy Ajim actually served as Chief of Protocol to five  Petroleum Ministers and rose to the position of  Senior Manager, Protocol in the NNPC. They include: Late Dr Rilwanu Lukman, Dr Edmund Daukoru, Dr Emmanuel Kachikwu ,Chief Timipre Sylva  and Chief Senator Heineken Lokpobiri respectively.

Dr. Ajim was also the NNPC Liaison Officer to the National Assembly between 2007 -2013. He facilitated the appearances of the Minister of Petroleum Resources and Top Management of NNPC before the Oil and Gas Committees both in the Senate and House of Representatives. He equally

 travelled widely with these legislators on oversight assignments to NNPC facilities locally and internationally. 

Dr. Ajim, has visited more than twenty three countries across the globe. Notably, UK, USA, Germany,  Japan, China, South Korea, Spain, France, Russia, Netherlands, and Italy.

Dr. Ajim is also the current President, Ior Gboko Foundation (IGF), a Non-Governmental Organisation where they provided transformers, Bedsheets to hospitals and Clinics in Gboko, distributed palliatives to Mkar Orphanage, Reflective Jackera to Okada Riders, including Facemasks, Hand Sanitizers during Covid-19.

Dr Ajim’s hobbies  include sports, Music, Watching airplanes taking off and landing.

He is  happily married with 2 children, Richard and Mimidoo, all Graduates and working in the UK.
