Residents of Gobir have commended Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, following the arrest of Abubakar Bawa Ibrahim, commonly known as Habu Dogo, a notorious bandit connected to multiple terrorist incidents, kidnappings, and killings across Sokoto State.
During a recent visit to Goronyo, Isah, and Sabon Birni, Matawalle instructed the Nigerian Army to apprehend Habu Dogo “dead or alive,” taking a firm stance to restore peace in the Northwest, where rampant banditry has instilled widespread fear.
“We are thankful to Matawalle for his leadership,” stated Liya’u Abubakar, spokesperson for the concerned citizens of Gobir. “His commitment to security is evident in his direct orders to the military during his visit to Sokoto State.”
The capture of Habu Dogo alive is being celebrated as a major achievement for the Nigerian Army, showcasing their dedication and bravery amid ongoing security challenges.
With Matawalle actively leading security initiatives, many residents feel encouraged that strides are being made to break the cycle of violence in the region. Locals express hope that, under his guidance, a safer future lies ahead.
As Nigeria continues to tackle its security concerns, the community remains steadfast in supporting their leaders and armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
