Transport union elects new executives

Goods Transporters Association (GTA) in Dei-Dei has elected new executives to pilot affairs of the Union.

This is in line with the provision of their constitution.

The election had the following members elected into different positions.chairman, vice chairman, secretary, financial secretary went to Peter Eneh, Ogechukwu Ezennaya, Ignatius Ezeugwu and Alex Eze.

While positions of provost and treasurer went to Okwudili Ike and Ikechukwu Nwokocha respectively.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the newly elected leaders, the chairman, Mr Ene promised to improve on the work of the former leaders, harmonize the motor park, take proper welfares of the members, defend and protect the union effectively and maintain law, order and work with the government.

He assured the government of his union’s unalloyed obedience, especially in total submission to the law.

The chairman commended the current administration performance, as well as appealing to those in authority to develop their garage and its environs, for the result to be ease of doing business, Eneh however called on the government to always come to their defense, whenever the need arises.

Declaring that there is no winner or vanquished in his leadership, the chairman therefore called on all, including those he contested with to join the new leadership to move the association forward, even as he advised members to always put God first in everything, which if done, according to him will go a long way.
