Kano Municipal Council Chairman’s Wife Empowers 250 Pupils

From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano

About 250 orphans and indigent pupils randomly selected from different primary schools across Kano metropolis, at the weekend, smiled with joy as Hajiya Sa’adatu Faiz Alfindiki, wife of the Chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Faiz Alfindiki, gifted them school uniforms, dozens of airfreshers and cash.

The beneficiaries were 100 males and 150 females.

The gesture was in line with her continued efforts to promote education of the children, particularly, the less privileged.

Speaking during the colourful ceremony, she insisted that, “we have a duty to invest in the education of our children, and I felt duty bound as a mother to show the way forward for the betterment of our society.”

Hajiya Sa’adatu, hierher, urged parents to give priority to child education, pointing out that, “education is the light, and key to life.”

She also advocated for the support of the well-to-do tin the society and corporate organizations towards the promotiion of basic education for every child in the state.

Hajiya Sa’adatu who tasked the beneficiaries to be of good behaviour, also spoke passionately about the need to complement the state government’s efforts in the area of free, compulsory basic education and the girl-child education.

Among those who graced the occassion include the All Progressive Congress (APC) women leaders and other party chieftains.
