Trump hasn’t addressed MNK’s issues, OYC declares

From Ifeoma Ejiofor Nnewi

The President of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka has said that the American president-elect, Mr Donald Trump has not taken a stand on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

Comrade Igboayaka in a press statement said that OYC has received with profound concern a circulating artificial intelligence video and audio on social media, purportedly of the USA’s former president and President-elect, calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

He counseled all Igbo proponents of liberty/freedom to reject such substandard AI-edited videos/voice, which compromise the Biafran struggle for self-determination.

“We are confident that President Trump, as a stalwart Republican, will uphold the rights of Indigenous Africans seeking self-determination and advocate for the release of political prisoners, including Nnamdi Kanu.

“We anticipate that Donald Trump will pursue a diplomatic resolution through the longstanding bilateral relationship between Nigeria and the United States of America,” he said.

Comrade Igboayaka said that it’s deplorable that someone would manipulate intelligence and emotions of the people on a matter of great importance to Ndigbo.

“Despite the circumstances, we encourage Ndigbo to remain steadfast, even though the British government, which colluded in Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and detention, is yet to issue an official statement or engage in comprehensive bilateral discussions regarding their citizen’s situation.

“We appreciate the tenacious drive of Ndigbo towards freedom, and such resolve is underpinned by the optimistic conviction that persistence triumphs over adversity.

“We guarantee the Ndigbo that a concerted legal through Aloy Ejimakor Esq/team and political effort is being made to obtain Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom.

“The situation in Nigeria is analogous to a ship crippled by a tornado. Many Nigerians sincerely acknowledge that the country’s problems have reached an insurmountable, irreconcilable, unsustainable, and irreparable point,” Comrade Igboayaka asserted.
