Niger, Zamfara governors, 50 others make good governance award list

Governors of Niger, Umar Bago, Zamfara states Dauda Lawal and fifty other respected personalities have been nominated by Mayorkings Agency Group for good governance award slated to hold December 11, 2024 in Lagos.

President/founder of the group, Ambassador Temisan Louis said the award is aimed at spearheading a global initiative to promote best practices in governance and sustained them.

Louis, the converner explained that the ceremony also seeks to promote excellence, and to celebrate individuals, governments, public and private institutions, and NGOs who have demonstrated and made good governance and sustainability a strategic priority of their organisations.

He said the award would not only highlight excellence in good governance, but also commitment to social welfare in three major streams including, government and Politics, corporate sector, and social sector and philanthropy.

Chief operating officer of the group, Ambassador Festus Osangbuwa, said the recipients shortlisted for the prestigious award/honour were carefully selected across different sectors, and would be given different categories of awards.

He, therefore, called on Individuals and organisations to support the initiative by sponsorship the event to enhance its success.

The 2024 edition with the theme, “Collaboration Over Competition For A Sustainable Societal Advancement”, according to the organisers, would feature notable personalities as facilitators in keynote and panel sessions.

They include, Dr. Obire O’Diakpor, from Nigeria, Prof. Martha Namundjebo – Tilahun, from Namibia, Amb. Dr. Mandy Sigauke, from South Africa and Zimbabwe, and lastly, Amb. Dr. Fatoumatta Gaye, CEO Top3 Solutions from The Gambia as keynote speakers, among others.

Other awardees nominated for the ceremony, according to the organisers include, Chief Dr. Prince Taofik Alao, Mary-Jane Ajoku, Amb. Amaka Diane Okeke,Amb. Lilian Chinwe, Everlyn Motiga, Dr. Ifeanyi Onukwubiri, Chinny Okoye, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, Olusegun Falode, Nasir Aminu Bala, Alhaji Shawall Barau Jibrin.

Also included are, Dr. Rasheed Bakare Oluwafemi, Amb. Lilian Nwankwo, Dr. Nwangwa Uzonna, Mceva Temofe,Zara Aminu Deribe, Dr. Ben Ugwu, Dr. Maxwell Stephen, Dr. Atinuke Stanley Pepple, Idiagbonya Samuel, Ahmed Mohammed Bande, Lady Sylvia Nduka, Ajayi Oloruntayo, Ojebor Constance, Amb. Dr. Benedict Abudu Ibhadon, and others.
