In a remarkable display of solidarity, members of the National Assembly gathered in Uturu, Abia State, on Sunday to honor the memory of the late Mrs. Pauline Afamefuna Ogah, mother of Honorable Amobi Ogah, who represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
The ceremony, which drew legislators from across the country, underscored the deep bonds of camaraderie and respect Hon. Ogah has cultivated among his colleagues.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Sir Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, who represents Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Diaspora, praised Hon. Ogah’s leadership and the legacy of his late mother. “We came not just because of the ceremony but also to show our respect for Amobi Ogah, a colleague who has built lasting relationships. The presence of lawmakers from across the country speaks volumes about the kind of person he is,” he said.
Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory, lauded the late Mrs. Pauline Afamefuna Ogah for raising children who have become pillars in their community and beyond. “Mama lived a life that mattered. She raised children who are friends to many, and this gathering reflects the love and respect people have for her family,” he said.
Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Food and Drug Administration and Control, described the late Mrs. Ogah as a woman of valor and faith. “Her legacy is evident in the strides her children are making. Mama’s values are carried on by her family, and she has undoubtedly paved the way for better leadership and service to the people,” he remarked.
Hon. Amobi Ogah’s colleagues, including Hon. Kuturu from Adamawa State, emphasized the respect and admiration they hold for their chairman, noting his approachable and effective leadership style in the committees he oversees.
The late Mrs. Pauline Afamefuna Ogah was remembered as a charitable and prayerful woman who instilled strong values in her children. Her passing at the age of 80 was mourned but also celebrated as a life well-lived.
Dignitaries, community members, and well-wishers joined in the celebration of her life, with heartfelt condolences extended to Hon. Amobi Ogah and his family. As the ceremony concluded, lawmakers reiterated the importance of fostering relationships and serving with integrity, drawing inspiration from the life and legacy of Mrs. Ogah.
