Abducted Anambra High Court judge, Rev Sisters regain freedom

An Anambra State High Court judge (Names withheld) who was said to have been abducted on Sunday on Monday regained his freedom.

Sources claimed that the residence of the judge became a beehive of activities as people who had earlier gone there to sympathize with the family had to return to celebrate with the judge.

Also, two Rev. Sisters who were abducted on 7th January, 2025 regained their freedom the same day.

News of the release of catholic nuns by their abductors was contained in a press statement signed by Sr Maria Sobenna Ikeotuonye (IHM), Secretary General, Immaculate Heart Generalate, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The statement which was addressed to all priests, religious and lay faithful read thus, “I bring to your notice in joy that our sisters Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Grace Mariaette Okoli who were kidnapped in the evening of Tuesday, 7th January, 2025 have been released unconditionally and in good health.

“We thank God for all your prayers and support all through these rough and uncertain days. May God for ever be blessed through Mary our mother.”
