Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State has appointed Chief Fidel Onyeneke as the Secretary to the local government, SECLOG
Speaking shortly after his swearing in on Thursday at the local government Secretariat by the Council’s executive chairman, Chief Victor Osigwe, Onyeneke who’s a Media Consultant assured that his appointment would give him the opportunity to further uplift the living standard of the rural dwellers.
The SECLOG who also is one time Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Imo State Council disclosed that the masses at the grassroot level deserved much attention in terms socio-economic development.
He promised to use his wealth of experience to enhance the well-being of the local government and it’s people through effective administration.
The immediate past Special Adviser to Imo Governor on Public Orientation thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma and the Council Chairman,Chief Victor Osigwe for finding him worthy to serve the masses in this capacity, adding that he would apply the principles of the 3R mantra of the state government as he carried out his duties.
The Journalist expressed optimism that most of the social and moral issues which confronted the Nigerian Society in recent times would be appropriately addressed,if the local government system played the expected roles as stipulated in the Constitution of the Country.
Onyeneke who reiterated that Authority and Power come from God,reaffirmed his determination to leave legacies that would greatly accelerate the development of Owerri West LGA and it’s Residents.
He solicited the co-operation of the Staff and indigenes of the local government as a deliberate effort to give quality services that would satisfy the needs of the people.
The media guru also pledged to serve with dedication, stressing that he would apply utmost transparency and honesty in his dealings in the office.
