Institute of Stress Management set to provide support to care givers, build health centres across Nigeria

In response to the shortage of manpower and health facilities across the country, Institute of Stress Management has concluded plans to establish health facilities, train care givers and provide sundry services on stress related risk factors across the country.

The development was made known by Dr. Fredrick Obidigwe, the CEO/ Founder of the Institute of Stress Management in a statement on Monday.

He further disclosed that to enable the institute discharge its statutory responsibilities, distinguished Nigerians will be inducted into the institute while others will be conferred with fellowships on Friday in Abuja.

Throwing more light on the mandate of the institute and how it intends to actualise it, he continued, “The Institute is mandated to run health centres, train individuals and organizations on stress related risk factors, to impact knowledge on stress management through workshops, seminars, conferences, advocacy and to help Nigerians in identifying life styles that will help in promoting stress free life in our society.

“This Institute was birthed due to prevailing circumstances confronting our contemporary age which is evidenced by many forces that consistently assails our biology of life, this emerging prodigy called (stress) threatens our happiness, health, self-esteem, service delivery, productivity and peace. Thus causes violent / conflict, poor service delivery, low productivity, cardiovascular diseases and under socioeconomic development”.

The said that eminent Nigerians have been selected as patrons and fellows so that they can use their wealth of experience to educate Nigerian on how to reduce stress despite the biting economic challenges.

“The Chartered Fellowship of the Institute is a practical professional investiture of achievers, authorities and successful practitioners of Stress Management in Africa. The selection of persons for the investiture is purely at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Institute”.

He noted that all persons inducted as Chartered Fellows of the Institute are regarded as patrons of the Institute accordingly and ought to be bound by the Institute Regulations and mandatory Continues Professional Education (MCPE) Programmes and expected to continue to assist the professional and infrastructural development of the Institute.
