Gov Ododo felicitates Ibrahim Idris at 76, lauds his legacy in Kogi

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has felicitated former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris on his 76th birthday, paying tribute to his leadership and lasting impact on the state.

In a congratulatory message released on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo commended Idris for his dedication to the development and unity of Kogi State.

Describing the former governor as a “patriotic leader and a bridge-builder,” Governor Ododo praised his legacy, noting that the values he upheld in office continue to influence governance in the state.

“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is a leader of uncommon wisdom, humility, and foresight. His years of service as Governor of Kogi State were marked by inclusive governance, peaceful coexistence, and remarkable infrastructural growth across all parts of the state. He remains a father figure to many of us in leadership today, and his legacy continues to guide the path of governance and unity in our dear state,” the Governor said.

Ododo also highlighted Idris’ calm demeanor, mentorship of younger leaders, and his strong belief in a united Kogi, describing them as admirable traits for anyone in public service.

Governor Ododo also expressed appreciation for the former Governor’s continued support and wise counsel, especially in matters of governance, peace building, and political stability in the state.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grant Alhaji Ibrahim Idris long life in good health, renewed strength, and continued fulfillment in service to humanity and the nation.

Alhaji Ibrahim Idris served as the Executive Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012.
