President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, has lauded Kaduna State’s inclusive governance and agricultural vision under Governor Uba Sani, describing the administration as one that “listens and executes.”
Dr. Adesina gave the commendation on Monday, April 7, during a special dinner hosted in his honour at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna. The high-level dinner brought together the AfDB President, his wife, and the Bank’s top team, alongside Governor Uba Sani and key state officials.
Discussions at the dinner focused on the transformative potential of the Kaduna State Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), an AfDB-supported initiative expected to revolutionize agribusiness, uplift rural farmers, and boost economic growth.
Governor Uba Sani expressed gratitude to the AfDB team for prioritizing Kaduna and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to using agriculture as a poverty-eradication tool.
“We are determined to empower our farmers and unlock Kaduna’s full agribusiness potential,” the governor stated.
The AfDB President applauded the state’s budgetary focus on agriculture, noting that such policies are critical to lifting millions out of poverty.
The dinner sets the tone for today’s much-anticipated and just-concluded groundbreaking ceremony of the SAPZ in Kaduna — a flagship project expected to serve as a model for agricultural industrialization in Nigeria.
