From indications, Governor Peter Mbah will face an infinitesimal opposition from Enugu’ North Senatorial district of the state in his bid for a second term in 2027.
Enugu North Senatorial district, with its land mass and population, produces the highest number of voters more than Enugu East and Enugu’ West Senatorial zoned in every democratic election.
Barely two years of his governance, political stakeholders from Enugu North Senatorial district in other words known as Nsukka cultural zone has expressed their admiration for Governor Mbah’s impactful democratic dividend in the zone.
The stakeholders who met under the aegis of “Coalition For Progress Enugu North district”a few days ago,vowed to throw their weight behind Governor Mbah’s re election for a second term in 2027..
A former Nigerian ambassador to Guinea Bissau and Member, House of Representatives in the second republic, Hon. Mrs Justina Ezeh, an academia Prince Tony Onyishi, Chief Wiily Ezeugwu and Hon.Engr. Jude Asogwa, the Nsukka local government chairman emphasized the reasons while featuring on Solid FM Radio programme, Freedom Square on Saturday, April 12,2027.
Ambassador Ezeh, expressed her total support to the collective decision of Enugu North senatorial district based on the projects and avalanche of on going projects in Enugu North district in particular and the state generally. She said there is No Vacancy in the Lion Building (Enugu state government house) in 2027.
Her words : “I am here because God has given us a wonderful son.Governor Mbah is focused to make Enugu the capital of Igbo land,the way it supposed to be.
“Governor Mbah has passed through political tutelage, Industrial tutelage and administrative tutelage,unlike many other young men who are politics.
“I am proud of Governor Mbah.I can stand anywhere in Nigeria to say that God has given us a son,who knows the job.
Mrs Ezeh stressed that what Governor Mbah has achieved within two years as governor of Enugu state is unprecedented in the history of the state. That his success and experience as business man has made the act of governance very simple for him.
“If you go through the history of Pinnacle Oil,you will know that Governor Mbah is ready to govern Enugu state.
“In 2027,there is no vacancy. I don’t run from pillar to post The direction is PDP. We are steady with Peter Mbah in 2027. Even the blind is hearing what he is doing in Enugu state.
“I have never been to his office, what he is doing is talking for him He is laying structures that will benefit Enugu state from generation to generation
“The Smart Green Schools when completed will provide equal opportunity for the farmers son in the village to learn appropriately with the use computer. He is putting structures for every body. There is no discrimination.
*I am pleading with my people in Enugu North Senatorial zone and Enugu state generally to see reasons why Governor Mbah should continue in 2027.At 85,I do not lie. I have been consistent all my life,” Ambassador Ezeh stated.
A university Professor, Prince Tony Onyishi corroborated Ambassador Mrs Justina Ezeh’s words.He equally said that he has not met Governor Peter Mbah physically,but the good works he is doing in Enugu’ state made him to join in the advocacy for his second term
His words, “I have seen a governor who regards government business as a serious business. I am a political scientist.I don’t even know him.The gathering at Nsukka was non-partisan even the academia were there”,Prof.Onyishi stated.
Chief Willy Ezeugwu, a social activist cum critic said he has failed in criticizing Governor Peter Mbah because he is doing well in Enugu state.
“Governor Peter Mbah means well for Enugu state.From what I have seen and what I have heard,Governor Mbah is here to deliver. Is it the on going renovation of Hotel Presidential,the International conference center,the road network around the city, the various projects in Nsukka and various parts of Enugu state, the Young Man is fantastic. He is God’s gift to Enugu state.
The chairman of Nsukka local government area,Hon.Engr.Jude Asogwa, re- affirmed the decision of stakeholders from Enugu North Senatorial district to throw their weight behind Governor Mbah in the 2027 general elections.
He stated, “Our people came together under the coalition of Enugu North Senatorial zone, it was non political.We are the greatest benefactors of Governor Mbah’s democratic dividends.
“When Governor Mbah assumed office, he focussed his disruptive innovation policy to the wards.Out of the 260 wards in Enugu state, Enugu’ North district alone have 106 wards.
“Based on that,We are getting 106 Smart Green Schools,106 Type 2 hospitals and 106 farm estates. He has already completed the bus terminal. Work has started on the 44.1km Nsukka road.He gave the contractor a time frame.
“Governor Mbah is ready to develop Enugu state.That is why he(Gov.Mbah)said,”You don’t need to know me,You don’t need to come to government house and see me before I will develop your ward.
“In 2027,We need no other person to complete these projects What is the next person coming to do,”Asogwa stated.
