Residents of Jalingo and its environs woke up on Sunday morning with posters of Sen. Bala Mohammed’s 2027 presidential campaign posters flooding the streets of the Taraba state capital.
As early as 7am Sunday, campaign posters of the presidential hopeful were almost found in all major streets, including churches and mosques as well as central round-abouts, markets and government house fences in the state capital.
Our correspondent in Jalingo who monitored the development on Sunday and Monday respectively reports that the campaign posters of Sen. Bala Mohammed attracted attention of many passer-byes and motorists who gathered in many locations looking at the posters with keen interest.
Our reporter who sorted the views of some keen observers around the vicinities were busy discussing the early campaign posters which flooded Taraba in less than 24 hours, while others suggest that Sen. Bala Mohammed may not be in the picture of what is currently going on in Taraba.
One of the politician who spoke on the campaign posters of the current governor of Bauchi state, Sen. Bala Mohammed, simply said he was shocked with the entire development when INEC was yet to release the 2027 elections time-table and wondered if the governor was aware that his posters has crossed Taraba state heading towards southern Nigeria.
According to the PDP Stewart, who prepared to speak under anonymity believed the governor of Bauchi state was unaware of the damage, campaign posters at the moment posed to be and said he will put calls across to Bauchi state government house for confirmation.
In fact, the campaign posters of Sen. Bala Mohammed have become subject of discussion in many offices visited by our correspondent on Monday with many suggesting that his political enemies/rivals may have hands on the early campaign to cause his disqualification by INEC ahead of the time.
But few others were of the view that the Bauchi governor was fully aware and was in the picture of all that is presently happening, given reasons that the presidential hopeful has not condemned the move nor issued a press release to that effect.
However, all efforts made by our reporter to trace those behind the campaign posters hints at a brick wall as nobody claimed to be responsible for his campaign posters in the state at the moment.
End.
