Success Obioma Akagburuonye, a renowned philanthropist and an Ambassador of social justice for the umpteenth time has revealed that the secret of his wealth is based on his charitable investments in the house hold of God and humanity, and passionately recommended same to the populace for them to test and see that God is really good.
Akagburuonye who’s also the founder and National Leader of Hope Rising For Imolites disclosed this on Tuesday when the National Executive Council members of South East Communities Development Association, SECDA led by Engr, Isidore Ehochi, paid him a thank you cum solidarity visit at the national secretariat headquarters of his organization at Ogbor Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State.
Ehochi who is the National Coordinator of the Association expressed overwhelming gratitude to Akagburuonye for his philanthropic gestures to humanity and also services to God,especially in building churches and clergy houses in so many communities in Nigeria, empowering Imo youths and women through skills acquisition, scholarships, entrepreneurship, job opportunities etc.
He pointed out that the essence of the national leadership of the Association’s resolved to visit him in his ancestral home is equally to appreciate him for his humility in accepting to be National Patron of the prestigious Association and assured him that plans have been advanced to decorate him on Saturday 31st of May, 2025 at the organization’s regional conference holding in Enugu, the capital of Enugu State.
The National Coordinator informed that the theme of the regional conference is; 2025/2026 Expectations of South East Region from South East Development Commission, SEDC and Federal Ministry of Regional Development, noting that the conference will definitely provide a road map for people of the region to deliberate on the prospective projects and programmes in the overall interest of region.
” With the critical stakeholders from all the local government area of the 5 States of the region participating at the conference, a communique will be raised requesting for a minimal percentage of the SEDC budget to be tailored towards critical areas of socioeconomic activities that would trigger and fast track development of the various communities in the region” he assured.
Speaking earlier, Akagburuonye who repeatedly described himself as a firm believer in kingdom investment said that, ” it’s a Biblical truth that there are people who have the desire to build for God, but God did not give them approval, example is king David, who was adjudged as the man after God’s heart, he wanted to build the temple of God but God said no, rather God approved his son King Solomon to do so, on the day of dedication, Solomon made some declarations which God honoured.
“Am a living testimony, if you are privileged to do one good thing or the other for God, God will definitely reward you a hundred fold. If you partner with God in any business, God will make sure the business succeeds. You have to reinvest reasonable part of the profit to the services of God and humanity, as a major secret towards progressive life.
“Thus why, am recommending kingdom investment to all and sundry because, e dey pay e dey show. You don’t have to invest only when it’s convenient or overflowing, true kingdom investment is when you don’t even have much and there are challenges facing you, so that you un-remorsely feels the pains” he passionately advised.
The astute politician popularly known and called Akaraugo further informed that, “am very much happy that my mother is still alive, and hale and hearty, this year, she will be 104 years old. I grew up, seeing my mother doing what is called first fruit, on yearly basis, what ever my mother planted in her farm, before she eats it, she will first of all harvest same and give to the Pastor of her church. I grew up also seeing my beloved mother using tinker mega phone doing morning crying on daily basis asking people to repent and accept Christ as their redeemer and personal saviour.
“That her tinker mega phone is still being cherished by her even up to today. Today I took Prof Jeph Unaegbu for a film documentary, She drew that her same tinker mega phone, and happily displayed those emotionally imbibed old christian songs lyrics She was happily committed to all these.
“My mother founded Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru, my ancestral home. They used to call it, church Nwa-afo, because Nwa-afo is her name or church ndi aku aka as a mark of mockery and societal rejection. This is due to our considered state of penury and poverty by most members of my community. The level of poverty was such that people were discardingly saying, Nwa-afo na umu, it was not complimentary at all but rather derogatory.
“Nwa-afo is the popular name of my mother and 8 of us her children were malnourished. They were wishing us death but to His glory God did not allowed us to die in abject poverty.
“My message is that the God I serve is the God that changes situation. The only God that has the natural mandate to change your situation from no body to somebody” he insisted .
Akagburuonye further informed that he resides in Abuja and a guru in real estate businesses, noting that his name rings bell in Abuja and its environ.
He pointed out that he is the person, Alhaji Nasiru El-Rufai the then Minister of Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA fought unjustly alleging that over 70% of choiced properties in Abuja belongs to Ibos and accused him of being instrumental to that.
The Real Estate guru allegedly informed that based on tribalism, envy, pettiness and jealousness, El-Rufai invited EFCC to probe him in 2003, insisting that the then Minister of FCDA collaborated with some people who were amazed why should this son of nobody own properties in choiced areas in Abuja.
“I recalled telling him facially in one occasion he was trying to humility me before Nigerians, using the national media, I told him point blank that look Minister, you are humiliating me because of land that belongs to God, for your information, lands belongs to God, this is God’s case. I have handed the matter over to God, if you are saying the truth, you shall succeed, if you are not saying the truth you must surely end your life in shame. Did he not end in shame ?” he queried.
“He tried his best to render me poor by destroying 17 of my choiced properties in Abuja, just to act God. Between 2003 and October 2005, I was in detention, declaring my assets and how I acquired them, there are certain things people do, it would be likened to using a tape to measure a growing tree.
“However, for the 2 years and 2 months I was in prison detention, I was given stringent bail conditions no body could meet, one of which being bringing 2 Federal Permanent Secretaries who must come from my village to endorse my release.
“I went on Appeal Court and won EFCC on their cruel bail conditionalities because earlier before then, many people under EFCC detention died in that detention for not meeting EFCC inhuman bail conditions like late Chief Maurice Ibekwe (Okwelle Holdings) and Chief Sunday Afolabi, one time Minister of Internal Affairs with his junior Minister, Mr. Useni Akpabio they all died in prison detention, but God saw me through.
“The Appeal Court ruled that NEVER again should any Court pose stringent bail condition(s), that am not a civil servant how can Permanent Secretaries ensure I attends court proceedings, as a business man, I should have been allowed my fellow business men to bail me as professional colleagues that could identified me and vauche for me and my business activities at any time am needed.
“That the stringent bail conditions is likened to putting a food before a man and stopping him from eating it and that that condition was unreasonable to the extent of its un-reasonability and since then prisons in Nigeria have been decongested.
“In Nigeria today, if any body is given stringent bail conditions, they will cite my case as a leeway against such stringent bail condition (s), Engr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye vs Federal Government of Nigeria, because I stripped off EFCC the Power of stringent bail conditions, they organization hated me more with more challenges imposed on me.
“As am standing before you, am the first Nigerian lawyer called to bar while still standing criminal trial” he noted.
Responding to members of South East Communities Development Association, SECDA, Akagburuonye who’s a Civil Engineer and a legal luminary but with bias in property law assured them of his willingness not to disappoint them and that he loves partnering with people that have genuine fear of God in them.
He informed them that he cannot make a promise without fulfilling it, thus why his words are always his bonds while expressing gratitude for the faithfulness of God in his life and household.
“I made a vow before God, that if He delivered him from the case he will do something unique to Him as God the Creator of the entire universe, this prompted me to tour 8 countries of the world looking for a Bible shaped church”
The National Leader and Financier of Hope Rising For Imolites opined that it was only in Tennessee, USA that he saw one, but did not exactly represented what he wanted, prompting him to move down to Japan and saw something like Ark in structure and that he is replicating same in his home church, Assemblies of God Church Ogbor Uvuru and would be commissioned and dedicated on Friday May 23rd, 2025.
The firm believer in kingdom investment solicited members of the Association to be in attendance of the programmes associated with the commissioning and dedication of the Noah Ark Church building starting from Tuesday 20th of May, 2025 to Friday 23rd May, 2025.
