2027: APC will dislodge opposition parties in FCT — Ganduje

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday declared that all-important Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, will no longer be left in the hands of opposition political parties as the ruling APC is poised to win it come 2027 general elections.

The opposition Labour Party (LP) had swept the presidential and senatorial slots in the 2023 poll to the chagrin of the APC.

He spoke at the old parade ground in Abuja while receiving hundreds of decampees from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) led by the chairman of the Abuja Area council (AMAC), Hon. Chris Zakka Maikalangu, at a gathering of party faithful tagged Abuja Unity Rally.

An elated Ganduje welcomed the development as ii indicates that the electorate in Abuja is set to vote en mass for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 poll.

He stressed that as the seat of power and the city that serves as the rallying point of Nigerians, Abuja does not need to be left in the hands of the opposition political parties.

Referencing Tinubu’s appointment of Abuja indigenes in his government, Ganduje argued that the gale of defection to the APC showed am endorsement of the President and the party in the FCT.

The Minister of Special Duties, Hon. Zaphania Jisalo who addressed the mammoth crowd at the event praised President Tinubu for living up to his promises to carry Abuja indegenes along in his administration.

Jisalo said he is a living testimony of the President commitment towards the empowerment of Abuja indigenes since he is an integral member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The Minister of state FCT, Hajia Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure urged the electorate to sustain their support for the APC which she said remained committed no improving their fortunes and standards of living.
