The Managing Director of Laralek Ultimate Construction Company, Olalekan Adebiyi, has strongly denied allegations of roof leakage at the National Assembly complex, attributing the reports to “bad belle” and mischief.
Adebiyi stated that an investigation by the company and its subsidiary, Visible Construction, revealed no leakage from the roof at the White House segment of the National Assembly. Instead, water ingress through smaller windows at the upper part of the Chamber Building caused flooding on the floor.
“The report is fake, and we did a good job,” Adebiyi said. “We stand by our work, and more rains will vindicate us in the coming weeks and months.”
Adebiyi expressed disappointment over what he described as, “unprofessional and unethical” nature of the report, noting the lack of photographic evidence to support the claims. He also questioned why some Nigerians would seek to undermine their fellow countrymen without reason.
The N38 billion renovation contract was awarded by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in 2022 and completed in 2024. Laralek Ultimate Construction Company maintains that its work meets high standards, using imported materials like Amothene from the USA to ensure water-tight seals.
