The North West Solidarity Forum (NWSF) has commended Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for what it described as the most successful Hajj operation in the state’s history, alongside his broader efforts in transforming Kano through people-centered governance.
According to the Forum, the 2025 Hajj exercise, which saw Kano field the largest contingent of pilgrims nationwide, set a new standard in logistics, welfare, and inclusivity under Governor Yusuf’s leadership.
Pilgrims and observers reported a smooth, well-coordinated operation, made possible by the governor’s personal involvement and proactive planning.
In a statement issued by its Executive Director and Convener, Comrade Abubakar Sani, the Forum lauded the quality of support Kano pilgrims received throughout their spiritual journey, including dignified accommodation, nutritious meals, and comprehensive welfare services.
The NWSF particularly praised the Governor for sponsoring numerous less-privileged individuals, giving them the rare opportunity to fulfill their religious obligation.
“The 2025 Hajj exercise under Governor Yusuf’s leadership has rewritten Kano’s history. His hands-on approach guaranteed every pilgrim dignity and comfort, while his generosity uplifted the vulnerable. This is servant-leadership in action,” Sani said.
Beyond the Hajj, the Forum also acknowledged what it called the Governor’s “transformative development agenda,” citing major strides in infrastructure, education, and healthcare that have improved quality of life and public morale across the state.
“This grassroots impact has been demonstrated in the heroic reception Governor Yusuf received upon returning from Saudi Arabia, a spontaneous outpouring of public affection rooted in his deep connection with the people.
“Thousands thronged the streets to welcome Governor Yusuf home – a testament to the trust he has earned through tangible governance. From the groundbreaking ‘Giant of Development’ projects to his Hajj triumph, he consistently prioritizes the people’s welfare,” Sani added.
The Forum urged the Governor to maintain the current pace of progress and continue setting an example in good governance and inclusive development.
“We challenge His Excellency to keep raising the bar. Kano’s progress under his stewardship inspires the entire North West region,” Sani emphasized.
The NWSF further called on other governors in the region to emulate Yusuf’s leadership style, advocating for policies that promote equity, social justice, and sustainable development in their respective states.
