COVID-19: Emir Of Bichi Calls For Three-Day Fasting And Prayers

The Emir of Bichi in Kano state, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, has declared three days fasting and special prayers within his kingdom, urging his subjects to seek God’s intervention over the spread of the dreaded Corona virus which has continued to ravage the world.

The First Class Emir also canceled all official activities within his emirate for two weeks.

He advised his subjects to strictly observe laid down rules and directives by state and Federal Government so as to curb the menace of the virus which is yet to register its ugly presence in Kano state.

According to him, with the way things are going, God’s intervention remains the paramount answer to the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emir Nasiru Ado Bayero fervently prayed that God shall protect the Bichi Emirate, Kano state, Nigeria and the entire world from the deadly virus.

The monarch stated this, while addressing journalists in his Palace.

He directed people in the emirate to desist from public gathering, maintain self distancing and engage in constant washing of hands and cleaning of their environment at all times.

According to him, the call for praying and fasting became necessary considering the emergency situation occassioned by COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

He charged people to report any symptoms of COVID-19 to the nearest health centre in their domains, just as he commended the state and Federal governments for the steps they are taking to stop the spread of the virus in the country.

Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero also directed all the District, Village, Ward Heads; Imams; and Qur’nic school teachers within his dormain to intensify prayers for God’s protection against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He prayed to Almighty God to maintain peace and unity among the people of the emirate, Kano state and the nation as a whole.
