The North West Geo-Political Zone in the Senate has rescheduled its zonal public hearing on the constitution review exercise to July 18th and 19th. The public hearing, initially set to take place in Kano, Kano State, was suspended due to a mourning period following the passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

The Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Constitution Review, has urged Senators from the North West zone to participate in the public hearing and facilitate attendance of their constituents. He also called on concerned Nigerians in the zone to submit memoranda on areas of the constitution they wish to see amended.

The public hearing aims to gather input from stakeholders on the proposed constitution review exercise. Senator Jibrin emphasized the importance of people’s participation in shaping the country’s constitution.

The Senate has already held public hearings in five other geo-political zones, and the North West public hearing is the final leg of the zonal public hearings. The exercise is expected to provide valuable insights into the constitution review process.
