Taraba PDP remains united, says John Mamman

From Celestine Ihejirika, Jalingo

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Chief John Mamman, has stated that the recent court judgment concerning the internal crisis within the party had no impact on it’s structure in Taraba State.

Speaking during an interview with journalists in Jalingo on Thursday, Mamman insisted that the Taraba PDP chapter remained stable due to the absence of disputes during its congresses and convention.

While maintaining that the PDP State Working Committee in Taraba remained intact, he called on residents of the state to continue supporting the party and its leadership structure.

He expressed disappointment over the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing the current state of the nation as troubling.

The PDP stalwart, who spoke passionately on the state of the nation, questioned the democratic credentials of the present administration.

“Please where is the Democrat in Tinubu and his APC Government,” he asked.

He further criticised the policies and governance style of the administration, alleging that Nigerians were facing worsening economic and social conditions.

“Where do we Start from, Tinubu came into power with a slogan to provide Nigerians with basic necessities but today, we can begin to count from endless hardship, insecurity, unemployment, multiple taxation, fuel palaver, hunger, killings and above all shameless democracy, all this are Tinubu’s dividends of Democracy in three years,” the PDP chieftain stated angrily.

Mamman also faulted some opposition figures, including factional African Democratic Congress (ADC ) leader, Bala Gombe, over what he described as undemocratic conduct in the political system.

“You can see how they suddenly turned the system into,” the elder statesman stated.

On the way forward, Mamman urged Nigerians, especially eligible voters, to set aside ethnic, tribal and religious sentiments and elect leaders with proven integrity and competence.

According to him, only credible leaders with sound track records could reposition the country and deliver meaningful change rather than politicians offering superficial reforms.
