Chief Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Anambra State says his party is ready to takeover the mantle of leadership in the state. While adding that he believes in rancour – free and credible elections, he discloses that his vision is to lead the state toward a clear pathway for greater prosperity for the citizens.

The PDP candidate also states that he believes in the process that produced him as the candidate of the party in the upcoming November 8, 2025 election in Anambra State.

He spoke to members of the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja (LAJA) when they paid a solidarity visit on him on Tuesday in Abuja, a few days after unknown gunmen shot him at the nation’s capital.

The governorship candidate who has been in public service in various positions said, “My contest is not disruptive, it’s divine. When Peter Obi contested, someone came out from the Southern and Northern parts of Anambra state, same thing happened when Willy Obiano contested, people came from Central and South to vie for same position.

“Then, some years ago when the incumbent governor contested, others from other senatorial zones and districts also were in the contest. I’m not desperate to become governor…”

On his vision to govern Anambra, the politician cum property developer said: “My desire is for Anambra state to open up and become destination for heightened development. I’m certainly available to serve, it’s now left for Anambra people (Ndi Anambra) to choose and send me so that they will enjoy clear dividends of democracy.

“We are ready to capture Anambra… part of my vision is to make many people millionaires within a short time, this is not a mere political campaign as most are used to. My only desperation is for our state to be in order, nothing else. We sincerely need to salvage our state. It belongs to all of us. My tactics is to contest and win, make desired impact within a short period”

Earlier, LAJA interim President, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, of Blueprint Newspapers says Anambra is in dire need of a leader who will relaunch the state to be among the leading lights in Nigeria and Africa in health, technology, education and massive infrastructural development.

Interim Secretary-General LAJA, Princess Ekwi Ajide, of Anambra Broadcasting Service and Onyebuchi Ezigbo of Thisday Newspapers prayed God to grant Chief Ezenwafor speedy healing and recovery. The secretary however intimated of LAJA’s plan to organise a governorship debate for all candidates standing for the election in Anambra.
