The APC Grassroots Governance Group APC G3 on Monday said former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai is busy campaigning for President Bola Tinubu with the manner he is contradicting himself on the achievements of the present administration.
This is contained in a press statement signed by the National Coordinator of APC G3, Amechi Chuks. Oyema.
The former Kaduna governor in an interview had cautioned former Anambra governor, Peter Obi, and ex-Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi, against promising to serve only one term if elected president, describing such pledges as deceitful and unrealistic.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television on Sunday, El-Rufai said Nigerians have grown wiser and would not be swayed by what he termed “false commitments” from politicians seeking power.
“Such a promise is even unfair. Four years is not enough to make meaningful change in government, and they both know this because they’ve governed before.”
According to APC G3, “In an attempt to malign the Tinubu administration because he was not accommodated, El-Rufai is busy contradicting himself and boosting peoples support for the present administration.
“Rather, discerning Nigerians are beginning to see the reason why he was rejected by the National Assembly.
“He is telling his failed coalition partners Obi and Amaechi that real reform in governance requires continuity beyond a four-year cycle, but at the same time passing judgement on the Tinubu administration that is just two years.
“El-Rufai is an evidence that the coalition plotters do not have what it takes to tackle the problems of the country, just as President Bola Tinubu is boldly doing.
“Once more, APC G3 urges Nigerians to continue to support the present administration as it boldly confront our socioeconomic challenges.”
