The Executive Chairman of Aninri Local government area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, has promised to refurbish the dilapidated Awgu High Court and facilitate the establishment of a similar court in Aninri LGA as part of his priority to get criminal justice system right within his jurisdiction.
He also promised to bankroll the school fees of indigents wishing to study law in the University.
Nwanjoku made the promise as he hosted lawyers from Awgu and Aninri enclave of Enugu state, who attended the 2025 NBA conference in Enugu to a dinner party.
He stressed that getting Criminal Justice System right begins with having men and women of integrity and high moral capacity who can uphold the principles of fairness, equity and justice without fear or favour.
Nwanjoku commended Governor Peter Mbah for his exemplary styles of sustainable leadership which attracted hosting of 2025 NBA conference to Enugu state.
The lawyers appreciated Nwanjoku’s gesture in hosting them,describing his administration at Aninri Local government area as a reference point in Enugu state.
They comnended his bold initiative to refurbish the moribund Awgu High Court, facilitate the creation of Aninri High Court and payment of law school fees for intending lawyers and assured him of their total support.
The dinner which was the first of it’s kind was attended by lawyers and stakeholders from Awgu and Aninri Council areas. Among whom were the Commissioner for Youths and Sports,Enugu State, Barr. Llyod Ekweremadu Jr. Hon. Engr .Magnus Nnaemeka Ede, member representing Aninri State Constituency, Barr Eric Ogudu chairman Awgu/Aninri Lawyers Forum, Dr. Nnanyelugo Obasi, Barr.J.O. Onyeabor , Barr.Offorbike Nwanjoku, Barr. Okezie Nwanjoku, Barr Mrs. Chinwe Ndubuisi, Barr. Mrs. Uche Onyefuru, Barr. Chukwu Ephraim, Barr Ernest Anayo Egbo, Barr.bMrs Chinelo Manaria Ekpete, Barr. Basil Chukwu , Barr. Decency Okorie, Barr. Andrew Chijioke, Barr. Lazarus Ike and Barr George Uduji.
