APC G3 commends Pres. Tinubu for reducing crude oil theft, boosting production

The APC Grassroots Governance Group APC G3 on Monday commended President Bola Tinubu for the presidential directive that has led to reduction in crude oil theft in the Niger Delta, subsequently boosting production.

This is contained in a press release signed by the National Coordinator, APC G3, Amechi Chuks. Oyema.

He said the presidential directive to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa and other stakeholders in 2024 is already yielding positive results and boosting the country’s revenue.

According to APC G3 “The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) report revealed that daily crude oil losses have dropped to a 16-year low of 9,600 barrels per day (bpd) as of July 2025.”

“The NUPRC report is a testament to the determination of the present administration to reducing crude oil theft in the Niger-Delta.”

“We in APC G3 attribute this feat to the 2024 presidential directive. It is already yielding positive results.

“We appeal to the stakeholders to support the Federal government, the Armed forces and every organisation saddled with tackling crude oil theft.

“A boost in oil production is a boost in the country’s revenue leading to successful implementation of our budget,” the Group added.

According to the NUPRC, crude oil losses due to theft and metering inaccuracies have plummeted to 9,600 bpd, a significant improvement from the high-loss years that have long plagued Nigeria’s oil industry. Between January and July 2025, total losses amounted to 2.04 million barrels, averaging 9,600 bpd over the seven-month period. This marks the lowest loss rate since 2009, when daily losses reached a record low of 8,500 bpd.
