From Blessing Ibunge, Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Commissioner For Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, has urged Christian faithfuls to be habingers of love, especially as “we reflect on the Life, Death and Ressurection of our Lord Jesus Christ during this Easter Season”.

Prof Kaniye who spoke on the significance of Easter celebration by Christians, said “it is pertinent to reflect on the prices Jesus Christ paid on the Cross of Calvary for our sins so that we may be free from the penalties of our sins”.

He referenced the gospel of John 3:16, where God demonstrated His love for mankind, by giving His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. He reminded Christians that God is love and urged them to imbibe the spirit of Love, as Christ loves the Church.

Prof Kaniye also commended Governor Nyesom Wike for thoroughly implementing the restrictions he announced for the containment of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in Rivers State, and praised his palliative measures as people-orientated.

The Education commissioner who further prayed for the health and growth of Rivers State and its people, charged religious leaders to pray to God for the total healing of the world, especially the land of Rivers State, from the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) currently ravaging the world. He asserts that God will hear from Heaven and heal our land, added that no one can share God’s Glory with Him.
