Nigeria will surmount insecurity before 2027 – Ebegba

Former Director General, National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, Dr. Rufus Ebegba has predicted that the current security challenge will give way before 2027.

Dr. Ebegba stated this at a National meeting of Excos, Patrons, State Coordinators and members of Team Sen. Oluremi for Tinubu 2023-2027 in Abuja on Thursday.

Ebegba was a gubernatorial aspirant who contested for the position in Delta State’s 2023 election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ebegba who is the Grand Patron of the APC Support Group urged Nigerians not to give up hope, saying President Bola Tinubu and his security team are equal to the task of restoring peace in the country.

He said so much achievements have been made in two years by the present administration.

He said “And we believe further support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will further strengthen the progress we have made and also reposition us as a great nation.

“What I have to say here to let you know the various strides that the government has made these strides whether on security our military men and other forces have been on the field all day and night trying to secure our country and to protect our territorial integrity and our sovereign land.

“It has not been easy foreign government has provided equipment that can stand the test of time but what is needed is for you to cooperate with the military and other security forces to give intelligence give information so that our enemies that do not make our people to sleep can be brought to their knees.

“I also want to also tell you the area of infrastructure roads are been constructed every day. I tell you the federal government is having a new mechanism using technologies that have not been used over the years that our roads can last long.

He commended the government for removing subsidy on fuel, saying it has long term effect of boosting the economy.

Speaking further, he said “recently the dollar has been stable because of economic measures the government has put in place and this will be sustained over time you must not look at the current phase of things because the economy within what government has put in place definitely there will be some distortions and this will be stabilized and the end result will be great achievement for all of the people.

“I can tell you there is improvement in the power sector and more is being done and also alternate source of energy is also being developed the government is also encouraging particularly solar energy so that everyone will have light to be able to meet his or her needs.

“Then the issue of increasing salary for civil servants and government workers moved from 30,000 to 70,000 naira.

“The federal government is also fixing the correct rail facilities in the north and they also think of also connecting other cities with modern rail systems and for those of you from Itakpe to Abuja be rest assured one of our demands to the federal government is that the rail from Itakpe to abuja be connected so that those who are going to the south-south those who are going to delta city we have easy movement.

“To ensure that development is faster for various geopolitical regions of the country the federal government has established federal ministry of regional development with all the six regions having their commissions.

“This is to bring additional development to the people at the grassroots.

National Coordinator of the Group, Comrade Kelvin Ezekiel in an interview appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu in his quest to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda.
