The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 9, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, has announced the indefinite suspension of its Vice Chairman, Pastor Paul Asekhemhe, over alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Ward 9 Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Eshikhena, and made available to journalists on Thursday.
According to the statement, the decision was reached during an executive meeting held on October 22, 2025, at the party secretariat in Ward 9, Imiegba North Ibie, Etsako East.
“After a review of Pastor Paul Asekhemhe’s anti-party activities, the Exco hereby unanimously suspends him as the Ward 9 Vice Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area, Edo State, over alleged gross misconduct capable of tarnishing the party’s image and creating disunity among members,” the statement read.
The Exco further declared that Pastor Asekhemhe is barred from parading himself as the Ward Vice Chairman or participating in any APC meeting, event, or function indefinitely.
In his place, the Ward 9 Exco appointed Mr. Jibril Momoh as Acting Vice Chairman, mandating him to serve in that capacity henceforth.
The statement also directed Pastor Asekhemhe to hand over all party materials in his possession to the new Acting Vice Chairman, Mr. Momoh.
The suspension, it added, was duly endorsed by the APC Ward 9 Executive Committee.
