Close Ranks to Wrestle Power from APC, Ohuabunwa Urges PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former Presidential Aspirant of the party, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has urged the major stakeholders in the PDP to close ranks and work assiduously for the party to win convincingly in the 2023 general elections.

Ohuabunwa, who is also the Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG), a political pressure group pushing for good and transparent governance in the country, urged the PDP faithfuls to resolve all grievances and work together in order to achieve victory at the polls come 2023, pointing out that the wrangling in the party will weaken the main opposition party going into the elections.

He noted that Nigerians have suffered unduly in the hands of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last seven years, pointing out that all eyes are on the main opposition party to rescue Nigerians from the hands of APC.

The former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) reminded his party faithfuls at a meeting in Umuahia, Abia State that the challenge at hand is enormous and urged them to resolve all their differences and work towards achieving victory at the polls in the forthcoming general elections in February 2023. He noted that some have genuine grievances and called for forgiveness and genuine reconciliation.

“We have a lot at stake as Nigerians are looking up to our great party, the PDP to rescue them from bad governance, insecurity, and massive economic hardship. We cannot afford to let Nigerians down at this most critical period in our nation’s history.

“We have to put our acts together and our house in order so as to ensure that the ruling party does not return to power come 2023. Nigerians cannot afford to endure another possible eight years of APC poor governance which has resulted in increased poverty, hardship and poor quality of life for many Nigerians.

“I urge the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Working Committee (NWC), the Board of Trustees (BOT), the PDP Governors Forum, and other critical stakeholders in our great party to unite and work together to resolve all misunderstandings so that we can together push for the victory of PDP.

“Since the flag bearer of the ruling party ( APC) had told Nigerians without remorse that he will continue from where President Muhammadu Buhari stopped, it is now very clear that we must rally together in order to stop APC from inflicting further pains and agony on Nigerians”.

Ohuabunwa also called on Nigerians to hold on and never lose hope as new dawn is about to break. He assured that PDP has the capacity and disposition to restore to Nigerians “what the locust and cankerworm” have eaten in Nigeria in the eight years APC’s poor governance and work to enthroning the NEW NIGERIA that is globally competitive and that works for all”
