The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been officially nominated as the “Most Efficient and Productive Paramilitary Agency of the Year 2025” at the 2025 Annual People’s Security Monitor Security Summit and Recognition Award.
This prestigious recognition acknowledges the NSCDC’s outstanding contributions to national security and its consistent record of operational excellence under the leadership of Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
The NSCDC’s exceptional track record in combating crimes that threaten public safety is a key factor in its nomination. In 2025, the corps successfully intercepted multiple criminal networks involved in banditry, pipeline vandalism, and illegal mining operations, arresting hundreds of criminals and recovering significant stolen assets.
Key achievements for the award include: Rapid Response Capacity, an operational units deployed across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory respond quickly to emergencies, kidnapping cases, and communal conflicts; Proactive Community Engagement, an intelligence-driven operations and strong community partnerships have fostered trust between the public and security agencies, reducing incidents of violence in high-risk areas; continuous training and capacity building, which Professor Audi has prioritized professional development, modernization of equipment, and the establishment of specialized units for counter-terrorism, disaster management, and cyber security.
The NSCDC’s visionary leadership has strengthened inter-agency collaboration and national security strategy, working closely with the Nigerian Police Force, the military, civil society organizations, and community leaders to create a coordinated security framework.
The award ceremony will take place on December 10, 2025, at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, bringing together top security officials, leading security strategists, and dignitaries from across the country.
