From John Silas

The leadership of the Omobolanle and Victor Laniyan Foundation (OVL Foundation) has been decorated with top honors in a distinguished ceremony that highlighted the organisation’s growing influence in humanitarian and social development work across Nigeria and Africa.

The event marked a major milestone for the Foundation, with several members of its Board and Advisory Council receiving Honorary Doctoral Degrees and Humanitarian Ambassadorial Awards in recognition of their outstanding service and long-standing contributions to vulnerable communities.

At the conferment ceremony, four prominent leaders of the Foundation were honoured with Honorary Doctorates.

Their recognition underscored the depth of expertise, character, and commitment they have demonstrated over the years in steering programmes centred on education, health, environmental sustainability, women empowerment, economic inclusion, and youth development.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Moses Abiola described the awards as a validation of the Foundation’s leadership and its continued role in strengthening humanitarian systems. He noted that the honourees represent a model of visionary governance, capable of providing sustainable responses to complex socio-economic challenges.

Beyond the doctoral recognitions, three additional members of the Foundation’s leadership team were conferred with Humanitarian Ambassadorial Awards for their dedication to service and community development.

The gesture reflected the broad impact the Foundation has recorded under its leadership structure and the consistency with which its executives continue to influence social upliftment efforts across the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Co-Founder and Chairman of the OVL Foundation, Dr. Victor Laniyan, expressed gratitude for the honours bestowed on the leadership team.

He described the awards as a testament to the integrity and excellence that define the Foundation’s operations, affirming that the organisation remains committed to setting high standards in humanitarian service.

He emphasised that the recognition will serve as further motivation for the Board to deepen its interventions and expand its reach to underserved communities.

Ambassador Oyinlola Babatunde, one of the award recipients, reflected on the significance of the honour, describing it as both a privilege and a responsibility. She noted that the title places an even greater demand on her to amplify her voice, influence, and platforms in ways that support vulnerable groups and strengthen community resilience.

The awards marked an important moment in the Foundation’s journey since its establishment in 2014 and registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2016. Over the years, OVL Foundation has built a reputation for delivering high-impact initiatives guided by the principles of integrity, service, and excellence.

The latest recognitions further reinforce the organisation’s standing as a leading force in humanitarian development, inspiring its leadership to continue advancing programmes that empower women, youth, and children to lead productive and meaningful lives.
