Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has reaffirmed the state’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, declaring that Akwa Ibom people are united across party lines behind the president’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Governor Eno made this declaration during a New Year visit to Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s home in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday. He expressed gratitude for Akpabio’s leadership and assured him of the state’s support for Tinubu’s administration.
Eno highlighted a recent youth rally in Akwa Ibom that endorsed Tinubu, Akpabio, and himself, demonstrating the state’s unity. “Akwa Ibom is united for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Akwa Ibom is united for you, Chief Akpabio,” he asdured.
The governor commended Akpabio for withdrawing cases against those who defamed him, calling it a “strength of character” and an example of leadership.
Akpabio thanked Eno for his support and emphasized that Tinubu’s success is Nigeria’s success. “We are focused on assisting the President to succeed because if the President succeeds, Nigeria succeeds,” he said.
Akpabio praised Eno’s governance, citing projects, infrastructure, and human empowerment initiatives that have brought joy to Akwa Ibom people.
The Senate President quoted Chinua Achebe, highlighting the importance of unity among kinsmen. “When we gather together in the moonlit village ground… We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so.”
Akpabio wished Eno a happy new year, saying the unity and progress in Akwa Ibom State will outlive him.
