Yobe North Senator mourns boat accident victims, calls for safety measures

Senator Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe North Senatorial District) has expressed shock and deep sorrow over the boat accident in Garbi ward, Nguru Local Government Area, which has claimed precious lives and left families and communities in anguish.

In a press statement he signed and made available to journalists over the weekend, the Senator extends his deepest condolences to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, and prays that Almighty Allah grants the departed souls Aljannatul-Firdaus, and the families the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The incident has brought immense pain to the people of Yobe North, and Senator Lawan’s heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones, those injured, and the entire communities affected by this tragedy.

Senator Lawan urges relevant authorities to swiftly investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and to ensure all necessary support is provided to the victims and their families.

He also calls for renewed efforts toward improving water transportation safety standards across the riverine communities to prevent such avoidable disasters in the future.

During this difficult time, Senator Lawan stands in solidarity with the people of Nguru LGA and Yobe State, praying that Allah, in His infinite mercy, comfort all those affected and grant them the strength to overcome this collective sorrow.
