The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa says it is targeting over one million members in the ongoing e-registration exercise across the state.
The party’s chairman, Mr Aminu Sani, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists on the progress of the exercise in Dutse.
Sani said party leaders had mobilised members extensively to ensure massive participation and achieve the target set for the registration drive.
He added that the state chapter provided logistical support, facilities and training to ensure the successful conduct of the exercise.
According to him, all 27 local government chapters assisted in procuring devices, including tablets and computers, to ensure hitch-free registration.
“Our dashboard as at yesterday shows that over 89,000 people have been registered so far,” Sani said.
He urged interested individuals to register promptly, noting that the e-registration exercise would close on Jan. 30, 2026.
“APC e-registration is ongoing in all LGAs, and we expect our supporters to take advantage of the exercise,” he added.
On INEC’s Continuous Voter Registration, Sani urged eligible citizens to participate, describing the exercise as vital for strengthening democracy.
“Your Permanent Voter’s Card is your right. Without a PVC, you cannot vote during elections,” he said.
He advised residents who had relocated to validate their details, while newly eligible youths were encouraged to register without delay.
Governor Namadi earlier urged residents to participate actively in the CVR, citing low turnout in the state and northern region.
