The Minister who expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, said the 16 kilometre Kuje-Gwagwalada route is almost 65 per cent completed, while the Airport to Kuje is 70 per cent.

Recall that the 16 Kuje -Gwagwalada road was first awarded by previous FCT ministers, Adamu Aliero and Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, and rewarded by Bala Mohammed to an an indigenous company, Crane Builders Engineering Limited, in 2010.

But the road suffered delays till the assumption of duties by the current Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike.

According to the minister, “I a m quite impressed. You know that the Airport to Kuje road is a road that is very key to the people, also from Kuje to Gwagwalada.

“Like the contractors have said, God willing, by first week of June or June ending, we would have inaugurated this project. It’s a very important project, you don’t need to go through the Airport if you are going to Gwagwalada or from Gwagwalada to town. We are very very happy with what we have seen.

“if you take from Airport to Kuje, the progress of work is over 70%, while from Kuje to Gwagwalada it’s almost 65%, so I think they will meet up”.
