As part of efforts to tackle rail line vandalism, the Railway Property Management Company Limited (RPMCL) has equipped the Railway Junction Police Station with an operational vehicle.
The company also renovated and furnished the police station and the Divisional Police Officers rest house.
Speaking at the commissioning of the projects the RPMCL Managing Director, Mr. Timothy Zalanga said the donation of an operational vehicle, and the commissioning of
the RPMCL Guest House was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
He noted that the donations reflect RPMCL’s unwavering commitment not only in increasing its asset base and business growth but also to institutional support, community partnership, and national development.
He also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), for its continued collaboration, institutional backing, and shared vision in ensuring that railway assets across the country are preserved, enhanced, and optimized.
According to him, “RPMCL recognizes the critical role of the Nigeria Police Force in safeguarding railway
assets, protecting lives and property, and maintaining law and order within our operational environments. Our collaboration with the Police has been longstanding and impactful.
“Over the years, RPMCL has consistently supported the Police through the provision of operational tools and infrastructure, including computers, motorcycles, office furniture, and other essential office supplies aimed at enhancing their operational efficiency and
effectiveness.”
He noted that the donation reflects the company’s commitment to
supporting security institutions, strengthening asset base, and building a more resilient
and forward-looking organization.
In his keynote address, a former Managing Director of the company, Alhaji Abubakar Labaran the Nigeria Police Force remains a critical pillar in maintaining law and order,
safeguarding lives and property, and creating an environment where economic and social
activities can thrive.
He however noted that these interventions will undoubtedly enhance operational efficiency, improve morale, and
strengthen the capacity of the officers serving here as well as address the challenges of vandalization.
He urged the RPMCL to continue on this path of strategic development, responsible asset
management, and meaningful partnerships, which he said, will go beyond infrastructure but contribute to nation building.
