The National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chaired by ex-Karina Governor, Aminu Masari, has held its inaugural meeting in Abuja with an assurance to meet expectations of party faithful and all Nigerians.
At the meeting on Friday, Masarisaid Nigerians would not be disappointed as the committee comprised of capable hands that would set standards to be emulated by others in future.
“Expectations of Nigerians and the people and the president is that we produce the best convention ever. The expectation is that we should also set a template for future conventions in the APC, and with the calibre of people in this committee, this expectation is almost given”, he said.
Masari, also a former Speaker of the House of Representatives assured the party stakeholders that his committee would be fair and objective to ensure that the party will emerge more united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further said that his committee will work closely with the National Working Committee (NWC) and all relevant organs of the party for coordination and effective delivery of the exercise which he said will impact on the leadership and all members of the party.
Those who attended the opening session of the meeting included the Vice Chairman, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary of the Committee and governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi and Hadiza Bala Dikko.
