In a move aimed at boosting grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Ifediche Political Family, a political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, has concluded arrangements to stage a 10,000-man solidarity march for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah.
The march, scheduled for April 4, 2027, will take place at Oji River Urban.
Beyond demonstrating support for the President and the governor, the rally will also serve to promote the aspiration of Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba for the House of Representatives seat representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
The Director General of Ifediche Political Family, Evangelist Dr. Walter Madu, disclosed this during the inauguration of local government coordinators and ward executives of the group. The event was held at the premises of Sacred Heart Church, Inyi, in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
He explained that participants in the march would initially be drawn from Aninri, Awgu, and Oji River local government areas, noting that broader participation would be considered in future outings in line with the vision of the group’s leader, Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba, to entrench APC across Enugu West Senatorial District.
His words, “Further to the inauguration of Local government Coordinators and Ward Executives in all the 41 wards in Greater Awgu which will be concluded on Sunday, April 19th(today),I humbly wish to inform you that our leader,Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A.Onyirimba, is concluding plans for us to hold a 10,000 man Solidarity -march to ginger support for the re -election of Prresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential election and that of our Governor,Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu state. That is why we shall march for the re election of Prresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu. There is no Prresident of Nigeria who has shown commitment in redressing the marginalisation of the Igbo nation, like he is doing now. He has also signed the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill refused by his predecessors into law. That means more funds will be channeled to develop the South East zone. Prresident Tinubu is committed in doing more for the Igbo nation,So we have every reason to galvanise the grassroots to vote him for a second term in office.”
He also highlighted ongoing developments under Governor Mbah.
He continued, “We are all witnessing the good works of Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu state. The abandoned Presidential hotel has been rejuvenated, the International Conference Center, the Niger gas and some other abandoned state owned industries are being resurcitated. With less than three years in office,Governor is planting Smart Schools and Type 2 hospitals in the 260 wards in Enugu state, the BRT buses are easing the pains of commutters in our commercial system. Governor Mbah is doing more and will continue. That’s why we are also marching for his re election.”
On Onyirimba’s interventions, he said, “Dr.Ezenwa A.A.Onyirimba even though not occupying any elective position yet, is alleviating the Infrastructural deficit in various parts of Greater Awgu(Aninri,Awgu and Oji River local government areas) and gingering human capital development, especially for the Youths.
