President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, commending his enduring contributions to national development and public service.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, the President described Kalu as a committed leader whose efforts have significantly impacted both Abia State and the country at large.
Kalu, who currently represents Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, served as governor of Abia State from 1999 to 2007. President Tinubu acknowledged his legacy in the state and his continued role in national governance.
The President also highlighted Kalu’s contributions in the Senate, where he previously served as Chief Whip and now chairs the Senate Committee on the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC), a regional body established to drive development across the South-East.
Tinubu noted that the SEDC is among several regional development commissions created by his administration to accelerate growth and address infrastructural challenges in various parts of the country.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s vision, resilience, industry, and service to the nation, as well as his commitment to the progress of Abia, are noteworthy,” the President stated.
He further praised Kalu’s role in the private sector, describing him as a media mogul and Chairman of SLOK Holding, whose business activities contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
