A senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Emmanuel Chukwuka Ukala has been commended for his contributions to legal practice in Nigeria and his life of excellence.
The commendation was made by a fellow lawyer and businessman, Barr Nasser Ahmed.
The commendation was made on the occasion of the public presentation of Ukala’s book, “Ukala’s Manual on Appellate Practice” in Abuja recently.
Barr Nasser Ahmed, who is the Dan Darma of Lokoja and chairman Grand central hotel Kano said: “The public presentation of Ukala’s Manual on Appellate Practice stands not only as a landmark intellectual contribution to Nigeria’s legal community, but also as a fitting testament to the enduring excellence of Emmanuel Chukwuka Ukala, SAN.
“In an era where legal practice continues to evolve amidst complexity and rapid change, this work emerges as both a guide and a compass—anchored in experience, clarity, and uncommon depth.”
Ahmed said that Ukala’s journey through the corridors of law has never been about noise, but about substance. “This book reflects the very essence of who you are: meticulous, disciplined, and profoundly insightful.
“It distills decades of practice into a resource that will shape not only the thinking of today’s practitioners but also the training of generations yet to come.
“In every page lies the quiet authority of a man who has not merely practiced law, but has helped define its standards.
“Beyond the brilliance of your scholarship, what strikes many of us who have had the privilege of encountering you is your rare composure.
“I was deeply enamored to be in the presence of such wisdom, calmness, and capacity. You carry greatness lightly, without pretension, and with a dignity that commands respect without ever demanding it. It is this combination of intellect and humility that truly sets you apart.
“Your book launch, therefore, is more than an event—it is a moment of reflection for the legal community.
“It reminds us of the standards we must uphold, the diligence we must embrace, and the integrity we must never compromise.
“It calls young lawyers to aspire higher, and seasoned practitioners to remain grounded in principle,” Ahmed stated.
