A retired director of the Department of Development Control, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mukhtar Galadima on Wednesday purchased his nomination form to contest for the Wukari- Ibi House of Representatives federal constituency seat, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Galadima picked both his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party state secretariat in Jalingo, capital of Taraba state.
Fielding questions from journalists after picking the forms, Galadima expressed confidence in his ability to represent his people and positively impact on their well-being.
The aspiring lawmaker, who is a town planner, also expressed confidence in winning the seat in the forthcoming coming general elections.
He said the victory would be determined by his constituents, not the government in power, adding that he was not perturbed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) being the party in power in the state.
“I am very happy today because the process towards actualisation of my dream of giving my people good leadership is in top gear.
“I have just purchased my nomination and expression of interest form today, and I am overwhelmed by the support and goodwill I have received from the people of Wukari/Ibi federal constituency.
“My intention and aspiration are based on my people’s clarion call for better representation at the National Assembly, bearing in mind my track record of services at the FCTA. I am very confident of my victory come 2027, and I call on my people not to be disturbed, especially as they have the power to decide who gets what in the elections,” he said.
Galadima hails from Ibi Local Government Area, worked and retired as a director in the FCTA nine years ago.
He has also resigned as a senior special assistant on development control to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, to contest for the House of Representatives seat.
