Tinubu arrives Nairobi for Africa Forward Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the highly anticipated Africa Forward Summit, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and economic development across the continent.

The President’s aircraft touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at approximately 12:18 a.m. local time on Monday.

On arrival, President Tinubu was received by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, alongside the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, senior Kenyan government officials, and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.

The summit, also referred to as the Africa/France Summit, is being co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to advancing African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and fostering strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating sustainable development across the continent.

The Africa Forward Summit brings together Heads of State, policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and other key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to explore innovative pathways for economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, and climate resilience.

During the summit, Tinubu is expected to engage in high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations with other nations, while reaffirming the country’s leadership role in shaping Africa’s future.

The President’s attendance also reflects his administration’s commitment to promoting Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges and advancing its Renewed Hope Agenda through strategic global engagement.

Accompanying the President on the trip are Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.

Others in the delegation include Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Director-General of the National Council on Climate Change, Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
